Why You Should Travel
It’s true that driving a car these days has become a real headache. As the population expands and our needs
expand, so do the number of vehicles on the roads.
But ever thought why we find the need to drive even though we could opt for cheaper, faster options? Because
driving is therapeutic. Nothing like long road trips, or driving along the coast or vineyards and farms.
The idea is to get away from our daily routine and do something different; take a break, let your hair down.
Yes, we have very busy lives and most of us are juggling multiple responsibilities.
There’s family, there’s work, kids, what not. But no matter how old you are or how busy you are, taking a few
days off to go away to another place can do wonders to your emotional, physical and mental well being. One doesn’t
have to travel to a whole new country or spend too much time and money. Short holidays are just as good.
When you travel, you plan. You pack your bag, you leave behind instructions to the person who’s going to look
after your cat, you leave your work files on someone else’s desk etc. Sometimes, the very planning of a holiday can
be stressful. But don’t forget the idea behind the whole thing. It’s to relax, enjoy yourself, maybe do some
touristy stuff or perhaps just stay inside your hotel room and let yourself be pampered.
Leave behind your world and don’t think about work. You don’t have to answer calls or check your email every
hour. The world will carry on just fine if you are away from it for a few days. It’s not going to stop functioning.
Try to not let yourself be constantly worried or panicky about what’s happening back home.
Travelling is perhaps the best way to learn about the world around you. It teaches you to appreciate cultural
differences, it teaches you to be independent, it teaches you time management, and if you’re travelling with other
people, it teaches you to make compromises so everybody is happy.
Try to get away from your regular routine as and travel as much as you can and can afford to, the world is
waiting for you to see everything it has to offer. Remember, travelling doesn’t always mean stepping on a plane, it
can be as simple as going to another city, going for a long drive or even taking the train to the sea side!
